The Covid-19 pandemic has confirmed the universal value of health, its natureas a fundamental public good and the macro-economic relevance of publichealth services. Electronic Health Record in Italy and Personal Data Protection.

The present article deals with the Italian Electronic Health Record (hereinafter ehr), recently introduced by Act 221/2012, with a specific focus on personal data protection. Privacy issues — e.g., informed consent, data processing, patients’ rights and minors’ will — are discussed within the framework of recent e-Health legislation, national Data Protection Code, the related Data Protection Authority pronouncements and eu law. The paper is aimed at discussing the problems arising from a complex, fragmentary and sometimes uncertain legal framework on e-Health.

Clinical manifestations of head and neck cancer in pediatric patients, an analysis of 253 cases in a single Brazilian center

Pediatric head and neck cancer (PHNC) is rare and its nonspecific clinical manifestations may often lead to delayed diagnosis. We aimed to describe the signs, symptoms, and clinicopathological characteristics of PHNC. Medical records were retrospectively reviewed for all PHNC cases diagnosed from 1986 to 2016 affecting patients aged 19-years and younger from a tertiary referral center in Brazil. Demographic variables, anatomical site of primary tumors, histopathological diagnoses, signs and symptoms, and patterns of misdiagnosis were collected and interpreted by statistical and descriptive analysis. Access to Preventive Health Care for Undocumented Migrants: A Comparative Study of Germany, the Netherlands and Spain from a Human Rights Perspective

The present study analyzes the preventive health care provisions for nationals and undocumented migrants in Germany, the Netherlands and Spain in light of four indicators derived from the United Nations Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights’ General Comment 14 (GC 14).
